Hey people,

Just wanted you to know that you can listen to Albino tracks online at www.albinoband.com/demo2.htm and www.myspace.com/albinoband.

They are playing the WEF Benefit on March 31 at the Vets'. It's going to be an ass-shaking good time. See you there!

Not to bitch or anything...but I was stuck selling baked goods the whole time. Actually Max did ask if I wanted to go dance and he would hang out and sell the goods. But considering that he is not on staff, I decided to decline the offer.

Hello who what is charge of the bake sale...I guess I was - did I want to do it. No!!! But hell I guess it gave me a reason to be there. Otherwise I would have crashed early. I had way to much stuff to do that weekend to be f*ing around all night on friday.

On the bright side - the music did sound good from the lounge and at least I could watch the dancing on TV. Oh and Nancy kept giving me looks all night from the ticket table :) so at least that was worth it just for that. You should all be thankful I stuffed myself on a Dos Burrito prior to the bake sale otherwise we would have made 1/2 as much.

Sorry everyone (especially Molly) I would have loved to staff the bake sale table or help out any other way and enjoy the fabulous show - unfortunately I had a fever and a horrible cough so I decided to quarantine myself and rest.

Great Job Thomas, Molly and everyone else who always sacrifice more than their fair share of time and effort in the spirit of WEF. Even though we all like to party and have a good time, the only way WEF can happen so that no one person or small group of people get burned out is if we all are conscious of how much we a giving and how much we are taking. If one "freeloads" on the fun of WEF without balancing it with some input of love in the form of effort in some area that needs it, then all the fun gets "sucked" out of WEF. One the other hand, if one gives to much to WEF so that they fall short in other areas of their life (school, work, sleep) they fail to enjoy any of the fun and get burned out. Year after year, I see a small group of people doing the majority of the work and getting burned out. If you are doing too much, don't gripe behind everyone back, tell the group you need help. I am glad Molly expressed her disappointment in a public way. If you feel a vibe that an area needs help or hear a request for help and you CAN help, don't be shy or lazy!

That brings me to the point of alcohol and such. It can be a side effect of such alterations to become selfish or lazy for some people. When on WEF duty, please act on the better interest of the group and not your own cravings if you are the kind of person who cannot or does not work when altered. Being altered can also adversely affect the working assumptions of non-violence and the non-violent agreement we all make as staff and volunteers.

In love and respect of WEF and you,

      Teena

hey molly - sorry you didn't have a good time. i might suggest that you should try speaking up when you need help rather than going home and expressing your displeasure over the internet (though you should voice your thoughts regardless). you may also want to try voicing your thoughts at a staff meeting b/c i don't think a large portion of the staff uses this forum. just some suggestions.

THANKS - Teena - I fully agree; And Thomas for the advice.
I had fun, I just would have enjoyed hanging w/some friends that I never see b/c of school, work, and all my other stuff. Thats all, not really a big deal.

I LOVE WEF it has brought me great friends and gives me a place to see them every year. I don't mind helping out every once in a while. I hope this isn't a bad vibe thread. Most WEFfies are good about helping out, some still need to learn about sharing responsibilities. But I guess that is what WEF is for, so I will stick it out and see how the festival goes. That is always the test right?

FYI, Ned Sykes, who occasionally works the Vet for the City, and who worked the benefit, is a long time Wellman Stage Crew vet. Give him lots of love.
